Offering a range of therapies to tackle even the most difficult mental health issues:
Integral Eye Movement Therapy - (IEMT) This modern form of therapy has been used to successfully treat the following conditions:
Couples Therapy - is a type of relationship counselling that focuses on interpersonal issues experienced by two individuals in a committed relationship. This can be long or short-term counselling depending on the issues involved but tends to focus primarily on emotional issues that are harming the relationship.
Counselling – When our mind becomes full of thoughts that are too difficult or painful to handle everything in life is affected; health, relationships, work and even our self-care. This is when we may feel a need to see a counsellor to help us reconnect with our own inner resources and gain insight into our issues.
Supervision - The supervisor’s goal is “to do whatever seems most likely to send the other person away more aware, more informed, skilled and encouraged than he/she was when they came in.” (Houston 1990, p12).
Supervision is available for experienced counsellors and students. Using a flexible model of supervision, the aim is to provide the supervisee with insight into their client caseload. This is achieved by making sure that appropriate boundaries are in place, that their work is conducted ethically and that they are gaining the most from their own therapeutic knowledge.
It is important that you choose a supervisor with care, they should be experienced and qualified to supervise. They should be a good match for your needs and you should feel supported. To ensure that you feel I am an appropriate supervisor for you and your practice I suggest you contact me and arrange a free 30 min session before making up your mind.
Students can have supervision from £35 for 1.5hrs of supervision. Qualified counsellors are charged £50 for 1.5hrs.
How to arrange an appointment and what follows
Please contact me to arrange an appointment.
(Please do not hang up if you hear my answer phone message, If you leave your name and number I will ring you back. I may not be able to take your call because I am counselling).
Once you have made contact we will agree a date and time for your first session.
When you arrive for your session you will be greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. I will offer you a drink and show you where the bathroom is and ensure that you have somewhere comfortable to sit whilst we chat. I will explain the importance of confidentiality within the counselling relationship to ensure that you feel that our sessions are safe.
I will listen and give you the opportunity to feel really heard and then at the end of that first session we will come up with a plan together of how best to move forward so that you can start to feel better.
The session will last an hour.
When the session is complete we will diary our next session and start to action our plan.
There are many different types of therapist and they use various different models of counselling. I am described as an ‘integrative therapist’ this means that I can draw on various models of counselling and techniques to create the positive outcome desired.
